WA Folders is for WhatsApp Web only. It runs on https://web.whatsapp.com in Chrome. It does not work in the WhatsApp mobile app, and it is not a WhatsApp Business API or team CRM product. You get local folders, private notes, reminders, local search, and export of the chat you have open. Everything stays in this browser with chrome.storage.local. There is no WA Folders account and no WA Folders server for your chats. WHO THIS IS FOR If you use WhatsApp in the browser and want related chats in one place (Family, Work, Clients), plus notes and a reminder on a thread, this is for you. It works alongside WhatsApp’s own Custom Lists (Lists already exist on phone and on WhatsApp Web). WA Folders adds private notes, local search, reminders, blur, and file export that Lists do not. If you need bulk send, broadcast lists, auto-reply, contact scraping, deleted-message recovery, or the WhatsApp Business API, this extension is not that product. FOLDERS AND FOLDER TABS Create, rename, and delete folders. A new install starts with Family, Work, and Clients (names follow your language). Open a conversation and add it to a folder, or remove it later. Folder tabs sit above the chat list so you can show one folder at a time. You can give a folder a colour or an emoji. PRIVATE NOTES Write a private note on any chat (for example an amount owed or a call-back time). Notes stay in chrome.storage.local, show in search, and can appear in an export of that chat. They are not shared with the other person and are not uploaded. REMINDERS AND SNOOZE Set a reminder on the open chat (1 hour, 3 hours, tomorrow 9:00, Monday 9:00, or a time you pick). The chat leaves Needs reply while snoozed and shows under Due when the time arrives. The toolbar badge can show due items. Desktop notifications are optional and only if you allow them in Settings. SMART VIEWS Unread, Needs reply, Due, and Unfiled sit as chips above your folders. Unread reads unread badges on chat rows currently visible in the WhatsApp Web list (the list is virtualized, so scroll to see more). Needs reply uses the last visible message direction for chats you have opened or indexed (inbound means they messaged last). Due is your reminders. Unfiled lists indexed chats that are not in any folder. Smart views do not invent counts. QUICK REPLIES Save short texts you type often. One click types the text into WhatsApp’s message box. You check it and press Enter yourself. WA Folders never sends the message. COMMAND PALETTE Ctrl/Cmd+K (or Alt+Shift+K) opens a palette to jump to a chat or run an action (add to folder, set a reminder, export). PRIVACY BLUR Alt+Shift+B (or the eye control) blurs names, profile photos, and messages on the page; hover to peek. Useful on a shared screen. This blurs what is on screen; it is not a WhatsApp account lock. LOCAL SEARCH Search chat titles, message text WA Folders has already seen, and your notes. The index updates while a chat is open. WhatsApp Web virtualizes the list, so only chats and messages that appear on screen can be indexed unless you use Load whole chat on that open chat (Pro). Search does not send queries anywhere. EXPORT (ONE OPEN CHAT) Export the open chat to HTML, CSV, Markdown, or JSON. The file downloads in this browser. Export uses the messages currently loaded in that conversation. Pro adds “Load whole chat”, which scrolls that same open chat toward older messages (with a stop control and a safety cap) and then exports that chat. This is not multi-chat or folder bulk export, and it is not a server-side archive. AUTO-FILE RULES Optional local rules (for example name contains a word, number prefix, or every group) can add matching chats to a folder. Removing a chat by hand stops that rule from re-adding it. BACKUP AND SYNC Download a JSON backup of folders, notes, reminders, quick replies, and rules any time. A backup does not include your license. Pro can turn on Chrome Sync for folders, quick replies, and rules across your Chrome browsers; messages and notes stay on the device. FREE PLAN The free plan includes 3 folders, 5 search hits, and 3 exports per day. It also includes 2 reminders at a time, 3 quick replies, and 1 auto-file rule. These limits are enforced on the device. Paid plans: $9.99/mo or $99 lifetime. Upgrade is in the toolbar popup. After you pay, paste your license key (starts with WAF-) to lift the free caps and unlock Load whole chat and sync. Chat data still stays in chrome.storage.local. Card numbers are not stored in the extension. PRIVACY - Data stays in chrome.storage.local on this device. - No account and no sign-in to WA Folders. - No analytics, ads, or trackers. - No sale or sharing of chat data. - No WA Folders remote servers for your chats, and no WhatsApp Business API. - WhatsApp is not affiliated with this extension. WHAT THIS EXTENSION DOES NOT DO - It does not run inside the WhatsApp mobile app. - It is not a CRM, shared team inbox, or Business API client. - It does not bulk send, broadcast, or auto-reply. - It does not recover deleted or view-once messages. - It does not scrape contacts beyond the chat list already on screen. - It does not upload your chats. HOW TO USE IT 1. Install WA Folders from the Chrome Web Store. 2. Open https://web.whatsapp.com and wait until your chats appear. 3. Open a chat, then add it to Family, Work, or Clients (or a folder you create). 4. Use folder tabs above the list, or the panel for notes, reminders, search, and export. 5. You can hide or show the panel at any time. WhatsApp Web restyles its page from time to time. If the panel cannot find the chat list, reload the tab.
