Peak, VU, loudness, and phase meter for Google Chrome™ tab audio.

VU Meter for Google Chrome™ is a real-time audio metering extension for Chrome tab audio. It displays VU, peak, loudness, true peak, LRA, and phase information in a compact meter interface. The meter can be shown as a frame inside the browser window, in the Chrome side panel, or in a separate window for flexible monitoring. It is designed for users who want to monitor browser playback levels while watching videos, checking live streams, reviewing web audio, or verifying online program material. v0.1.38 Update - Added Side monitoring mode for checking stereo difference content - Improved Mono / Side output routing - Improved Mono Sum / Side meter behavior - Minor UI and stability improvements Key features: - Real-time stereo level metering for Chrome tab audio - Peak and VU meter modes - Adjustable VU reference level - Peak meter floor options - Momentary, short-term, and integrated loudness readouts - True Peak and LRA readouts - Integrated loudness transport controls - Phase correlation meter - Optional Mono Sum / Side meter - Output mute option for metering without playback - Stereo, Mono, Mono L, Mono R, and Side output monitoring modes - L/R SOLO monitoring for checking either channel through both outputs - Vertical meter layout for detailed monitoring - Horizontal meter layout for compact Frame and Window monitoring - Frame mode that stays inside the browser window - Side Panel mode for integrated browser monitoring - Separate Window mode for flexible placement - Dedicated settings window - Automatic metering start when the meter opens - Calibration tool for checking meter behavior with reference signals - Clean, high-contrast display designed for quick visual reading Benefits: VU Meter for Google Chrome™ helps you quickly understand whether browser audio is too quiet, too loud, unbalanced, clipped, or phase-problematic. It is useful for live stream monitoring, online video review, web audio testing, music playback checks, and general audio quality control. Frame mode keeps the meter visible inside the browser window while the source page continues playing. Side Panel mode is useful when you want the meter integrated into the Chrome workspace. Window mode is useful when you want to place the meter freely on another part of the screen. The horizontal layout provides a compact monitoring view for Frame and Window use, while the vertical layout offers a more traditional meter display. Output mute, mono monitoring, Side monitoring, and L/R SOLO options make it easier to check broadcast, streaming, and monitoring conditions without changing the source content. Privacy: Audio is processed locally in the browser for metering purposes. This extension does not record, store, transmit, or sell captured audio, browsing data, or personal information. Important notes: This extension meters audio from Chrome tab playback. It does not meter full system audio or external audio input devices. VU Meter for Google Chrome™ is an independent extension and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC.
