Real-time translated subtitles and speech for the audio playing in your tab.

VoxTranslate translates the audio playing in your browser tab and gives you live subtitles over the page plus a spoken translation you can mix against the original. Because it works on the tab's audio rather than on any one service's API, it covers whatever is making sound in Chrome: • Google Meet and Zoom on the WEB — their browser clients, not the desktop apps • YouTube videos and live streams • Twitch • Online courses and lecture players • Podcasts and webinar rooms • Anything else in a tab that plays audio WHAT YOU GET • Live subtitles in your language, drawn over the page and following the video into fullscreen. Adjust size and position, or show the original line underneath. • Spoken translation on the tiers that produce audio. • A single 0–100% control over the ORIGINAL audio. While the translated voice speaks, the original ducks underneath it and comes straight back when it stops — so you keep the speaker's timing and tone instead of losing them. • Your language chosen per session. The spoken language is detected for you. • Live usage and remaining balance in the side panel, so nothing is a surprise. PERMISSIONS, AND WHY VoxTranslate does not request access to your browsing. It uses activeTab, so pressing the toolbar button grants access to that ONE tab and nothing else. There is no <all_urls> permission, and no access to your tabs, history, cookies or network requests. It captures the audio of the single tab you started it on. Never your microphone, never another tab, never a background tab. The page itself is never sent — not the URL, not the title, not the video id, not the page content. What leaves your browser is the audio, the language you chose, and your session token. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO • Chrome only. Firefox, Safari and Edge are not supported. • The web clients of Google Meet and Zoom, not their desktop applications — it listens to a browser tab, and a desktop app does not have one. • It translates what you HEAR. It does not translate you for the other participants. • Chrome forbids injecting scripts into its own pages and the Web Store, so subtitles do not appear there. Audio translation still runs. • The spoken language is detected once when you press start, so a video that switches language halfway through needs the session restarted. • We do not publish a latency figure. We have not measured translation delay on the shipped build, and it varies with the tier, the language pair, your device and your network. LANGUAGES Coverage depends on the tier you pick, and the picker shows exactly which languages each one offers. The Standard tier covers 29 languages; the Premium tier covers all 84 in the VoxTranslate catalogue. ACCOUNT AND BILLING Requires a VoxTranslate account. Translation is billed per minute of speech from your account credit — it is not a subscription, and unused credit does not expire monthly. New accounts start with free credit and no card. A NOTE ON AI Subtitles and any translated voice are generated by AI and can contain errors. The translated voice is synthesized — it is not a recording of the speaker. VoxTranslate is built for everyday comprehension, not for legal, medical or safety-critical decisions.
