Volume Lock

Remembers a volume level per site and applies it automatically. Boost to 600%, equalizer, night mode.

Volume Lock sets the volume of audio and video on a web page and remembers it. The next time you open the site, the saved level is applied, including to media that starts later, so there is no loud first second. HOW IT WORKS - Turn the knob in the popup, or use the 25, 50 and 100 presets, the arrow keys, the mouse wheel or keyboard shortcuts. - Press Save to remember the level for the whole domain. A level saved for example.com also covers music.example.com and every other subdomain. Once a site is saved, turning the knob updates the saved level. - Want one page to differ? Open the three-dot menu and choose "Save for this URL". It overrides the domain level. - Set a default level for sites you have not saved, or tell the extension to never touch a site. FEATURES - Optional boost up to 200%, 300%, 400% or 600%, off by default. A limiter keeps loud peaks from distorting. Boost also reaches audio played through the Web Audio API. - Five-band equalizer with presets (bass boost, treble boost, vocal, loudness), a leveler for night listening, mono and left/right balance. - Block autoplay on the sites you choose: media that starts before you click is paused. - Hold Shift on the knob for 1% steps, or set one level as the default for every site. - Follows the page's own player: when you change the level from the extension, the site's volume slider moves with it. - Mute the current tab or all other tabs. Muted tabs are listed in the popup with an Unmute button each. - A toolbar badge shows the saved level for the current site. - A live ring around the knob shows the level of the tab's audio. - Options page: every saved site in a table with sorting, filtering and inline editing, plus rules, defaults, backup and theme (System, Light or Dark). - Export your settings to a JSON file and import them later. - Shortcuts: Alt+Shift+Up and Alt+Shift+Down change the volume, Alt+Shift+M mutes the tab, Alt+Shift+S saves the site. Rebind them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts. PRIVACY Volume Lock changes only the volume of media on the page. It does not read, record or send any page content, has no analytics and makes no network requests. Your levels are stored in your browser's own sync storage. Note: Chrome's built-in pages, the Chrome Web Store and some protected pages do not allow extensions, so the popup shows a short explanation there.
