Overview
Measures whether frequently-censored sites load from your network. Reports test outcomes only — never your browsing.
Voidly Censorship Monitor turns your browser into a measurement point for open internet-censorship research. Every 15 minutes it tests 20 sites from a fixed, published list of 62 — news outlets, social platforms, messaging apps and privacy tools that are blocked in some countries — and records whether each one loaded from your network. WHAT MAKES THIS VERSION DIFFERENT Earlier versions reported a site as blocked whenever a request failed. That cannot tell real interference apart from a domain that no longer exists, a captive portal, or a local content blocker — and it produces a great many false positives. This version reads real HTTP responses and checks an independent public DNS resolver before reporting anything: • A site nobody can resolve is recorded as a dead domain, not as censorship • A bot-check page is recorded as reachable, because the path is open • A result the extension cannot stand behind is discarded rather than sent PRIVACY • No browsing history. There is no content script, no tabs permission and no history access • Your cookies are never attached to a test • Permissions are an explicit list of the sites being tested, not wildcards • Nothing is collected beyond the outcome of the extension's own scheduled tests Free, and free of charge — no account, no sign-in, no payment.
