Speak in one language, see it transcribed live, get an instant translation, hear it spoken back, and have it typed automatically into whatever text field you're using — including fields inside iframes. Defaults to Urdu → English, with 19 languages built in. How it works Pick the language you'll speak in and the language to translate to. Click into the text field on the webpage where you want the translation to land. Tap the mic and start talking. Your speech appears live under "You said" as you go. The translation happens in the background and, if Auto-type is on, gets typed straight into that field as you speak. Use Speak to hear the translation read aloud, Copy to copy it, Insert into page to type it on demand, or Clear to reset. Swap your source and target languages with one tap — your choices are remembered next time you open the panel. Every frame reports when one of its fields is focused, so typing lands in exactly the right place. • 19 built-in languages for both dictation and translation. • Text-to-speech playback of the translation, using your browser's built-in voices. • Never leaves you empty-handed — if direct typing into a page fails for any reason, the translation is copied to your clipboard automatically with a clear "paste with Ctrl+V" message. • Reliable listening — Chrome's speech engine stops on its own after a pause; the extension restarts it automatically with a short, increasing delay, and rebuilds the recognizer if a restart fails. • Correct ordering — speech is translated one chunk at a time in a queue, so fast talking can't cause pieces to land out of order, with automatic retry on connection hiccups. Good to know Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides render their own canvas instead of a normal text field, so no extension can reliably type into them through standard methods — this extension tries harder and may work for short insertions, and falls back to copying the translation to your clipboard if a direct attempt fails. Pages like the Chrome New Tab Page, chrome://settings, and the Chrome Web Store are special internal addresses that no extension is allowed to type into. This is a Chrome platform restriction that applies equally to every extension. Why this extension asks for access to all websites Voice Translate needs to detect and type into text fields on whatever page you're using — that's the core feature. It also automatically re-injects itself into tabs you already have open when the extension is installed or updated, so you don't have to manually refresh every tab. The extension only ever places its own script on the page to do this; it does not track your browsing, collect analytics, or send your data anywhere beyond the translation request itself. Privacy Dictation runs entirely through Chrome's built-in Web Speech API. Translation is sent to Google Translate to produce the result and is not logged or stored by this extension.
