Click on any text box, input field, or rich-text editor on a web page. 2. Press the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+1 on Windows and Linux, Command+Shift+1 on Mac) or click the floating microphone button. 3. Start talking. Your speech is transcribed and inserted at the cursor position in real time. 4. Press the shortcut again, click the microphone, or hit Esc to stop dictation. The extension recognizes standard input fields, text areas, and rich-text editors, so it works with modern web apps as well as classic HTML forms. Inserted text triggers the page's own input events, so autosave, spell check, and character counters keep working normally. When you first start dictating on a site, Chrome will ask for permission to use your microphone; click Allow and the microphone stays enabled for that site. If you ever see the microphone blocked, click the padlock icon in the address bar, allow the microphone in Site settings, and reload the page.
