Overview

Block unlimited shortcuts free. Remap and sync across devices with a license. No tracking, no ads.

VKT Shortcut is a keyboard shortcut manager for Chrome and Edge that blocks and remaps hotkeys on web pages. Stop a key that a site has claimed for something you never use, redirect a combination to the one your fingers already know, and keep the rule in place across tabs. Blocking is free and unlimited; remapping and cross-device sync need a licence. Rules apply everywhere by default or only on the sites you name, with no page reload. No account, no ads, no tracking. The feature that makes it usable every day is block-all that does not break the page. One switch silences every page shortcut on a site, or on every site at once, while typing, arrow-key navigation, Tab, Enter, Escape, clipboard shortcuts, undo and redo, and refresh keep working. You get a quiet page without losing the keyboard you actually need. WHY VKT SHORTCUT • Block any key combination on a page, recorded by pressing it rather than typing its name. • Remap one combination to another inside the page (Premium). • Sync rules across devices through your browser account — Chrome sync or Edge sync (Premium). • One rule set applies everywhere by default; scope a rule to a domain and its subdomains when you need to. • Ready-made site presets: pick a site from the list and apply a prepared rule set in one click. • Block all shortcuts per site, or on every site from the panel's global switch. • Block-all keeps typing, arrow navigation, clipboard, undo/redo and refresh alive. • A plain-key rule does not fire while the cursor sits in a search box, chat input or editor. • Pause rules on one site without touching the rest, or stop everything with the master switch. • No rule limit at all, plus import and export of the whole set as JSON. • Changes apply immediately, with no page refresh. BLOCK VERSUS REMAP • Block means the page never sees the key: the hotkey that opens help, switches a player mode or fires a game action simply stops. • Remap means the page sees a different key instead, so an unfamiliar shortcut can become one you already use. • Block F1 in a web editor to stop the help panel from interrupting a writing session. • Turn off single-key shortcuts on a site where they fire while you read or scroll. • Both work the same way: record a key, then pick what the page should see; remapping needs a licence. ONE RULE SET, EVERY SITE OR ONE SITE • Leave the site field empty and the rule applies on every website. • Enter a domain and it covers that domain plus its subdomains, so example.com also covers app.example.com. • Rules can be switched off individually without deleting them. • A preset key becomes its own rule, which you can edit, disable or delete like any other. • Pause rules on the current site when you need the site's own shortcuts back, without editing the rules. • The master switch stops all blocking at once and leaves your rules intact. BLOCK EVERYTHING WITHOUT BREAKING THE PAGE • Per-site block-all neutralizes every page shortcut on one site; the panel's global switch does it everywhere. • Typing keeps working: a rule on a plain letter never fires inside a text field. • Tab, Enter, Space, Escape and the arrow keys still move through the page. • Home, End, Page Up and Page Down still scroll. • Copy, paste, cut, select all, undo, redo and refresh survive block-all. • Pausing a site takes priority over block-all, so an exception stays usable. • Keys the browser reserves for itself, such as Ctrl+W, Ctrl+T, Ctrl+N and F11, never reach the page and cannot be blocked by any page-level tool. FREE VS PREMIUM Free, unlimited: block rules, key recording, the global default scope, per-site scoping with subdomains, all site presets, per-site and global block-all, per-site pause, the master switch, the typing guard, any number of rules, and import and export of all rules as one JSON file. Premium (optional licence): key remapping, and syncing rules between devices through the browser account you are already signed in to. One licence key activates on two browsers; removing it from one frees that slot. Sync runs on the browser's own account storage, never on our servers: Chrome syncs through your Google account, Edge through your Microsoft account, and the two do not sync with each other. HOW IT WORKS 1. Pin VKT Shortcut to the toolbar and open the side panel. 2. Create a rule and choose block or remap. 3. Click the key field and press the combination you want to intercept. 4. Leave the site field empty for everywhere, or enter a domain for one site. 5. Save; the rule applies immediately and can be switched off at any time. PRIVACY FIRST • Rules stay in your browser and blocking happens on your device. • VKT Shortcut does not read or collect page content, and it changes nothing on the sites you visit. • No analytics, no tracking, no account. The only outbound request is the optional licence check; syncing goes through your own browser account. • Free users never contact a server: rules stay in chrome.storage.local. Sync, when enabled, mirrors them into your browser account. BUILT FOR KEYBOARD WORK • Desktop Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Phones are not supported. • For web apps, browser games, presentations and anyone whose editor and browser disagree about shortcuts. • Six interface languages: English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, German, Spanish and French. • A side panel that stays open while you test a key, so you can see the rule that caught it. Stop letting a website decide what your keyboard does. Install VKT Shortcut, block what gets in the way, and remap the rest to keys you already know. More tools and support: https://annmax1983.com
