VJam FX — VJ Effects for Any Website
Overview
Overlay 370 music-reactive VJ visuals on any webpage. Auto mode, beat detection, layers, blend modes, filters, scenes & text.
VJam FX is a Chrome extension that lays music-reactive VJ visuals over any web page. Open a page with a video or music, turn VJam FX on, and the effects follow the beat. HOW IT WORKS • Open a page with a video or music and play it • Click the VJam FX icon in the toolbar (first time: open the Extensions menu and pin VJam FX) • Turn the switch on — Auto mode starts right away FEATURES • 370 visual effects in 13 categories: neon tunnels, kaleidoscopes, particles, aurora, glitch, plasma and more • Beat detection: reads the sound of the video or music on the page and finds the BPM — no microphone needed • Auto mode: every 15 seconds, on the beat, it adds, swaps or clears one effect at a time, with random blend modes and filters • Next: a fresh combination of effects with one click — Auto carries on from there • Layers: stack effects and mix them with blend modes (Lighten, Difference, Exclusion, Dodge) • Filters: invert, hue, saturation, grayscale and contrast • Adjustable opacity, fade time, cycle length and sensitivity • 12 scenes: save your favorite combinations and recall them instantly • Text: put your own words on screen with animated fonts and colors • All tabs: the effects follow you to the tab you switch to or open • Effects stay on as you move between pages of the same site • Light and dark pages: the blend adapts automatically • Heavy effects are skipped automatically on computers that can't keep up HOW IT HEARS THE MUSIC VJam FX reads the sound straight from the video or audio player on the page. This is silent: no recording indicator, no microphone. When a page doesn't allow that, VJam FX uses Chrome's tab audio capture instead, and Chrome shows its recording indicator on the tab while it is in use. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • The sound is analyzed only on your computer • No account, no ads, no tracking • Nothing is collected, and the sound never leaves your device • The effects run only on the tab where you turn VJam FX on, unless you turn on All tabs Free. From the makers of VJam, the browser-based VJ app.
