VisiRead is a reading assistant designed to help reduce reading difficulties using some well researched text accessibility techniques. The colour palette has been carefully selected to provide the optimum readability of text. The Bold function displays the selected text using the bold technique where the first few letters of each word are altered to the bold format. The one word function provides a tool that will display one word at a time in an animated sequence, timed pauses for punctuation provide a natural timing that is adjusted using a slider to give a desired words per minute. The range of the words per minute slider has also been researched to give the minimum and maximum normal reading speeds of individuals. This well designed, and styled tool will become a valuable asset for anyone who has any type of reading difficulty.
