The extension uses filter lists—sets of rules that determine which elements should be blocked. Most of these pre-made lists are created, published, and maintained by the community under open-source licenses. Since many ads contain trackers and some may even carry malware, Virus Checker includes built-in protection against tracking and malicious content by default.
