Vim no longer working on ChromeOS

I've had Vim installed on my Chromebook for quite a while but recently it no longer works. If I try to open an existing file or a new one then it just opens a blank white window and does not respond to any keyboard input. I thought it might have been since I updated to a new version of ChromeOS but after several ChromeOS updates it still does not work. I've tried uninstalling then re-installing it but without success. I'm using Chrome OS Version 103.0.5060.114 (Official Build) (64-bit). Note that Vim still works on an old Chromebook running Chrome OS Version 92.0.4515.157 (Official Build)(64-bit). I've also reported this to Google some time ago but have not had any response. If the problem is with the OS then I would have expected this to have been reported and resolved long before now.

Finding Saved File

Vim appears to save a new file, yet it cannot be found.

After reading the other comments, it looks like vim can't save new files. If that's the case, a message should be displayed.

Tab does't tab

Whenver I hit the Tab key, instead of indenting the line, it tabs out of the window, causing it to lose focus.

Code not available

Hi, I have the same problem the others have where you cannot save a new file but can edit an existing one. I was trying to look into the code to fix it, but it seems not available anymore. Can you open it up again so I can fork it? I used the url on this site https://code.google.com/p/naclports/source/browse/trunk/src/ports/vim

Google Drive support?

Is there any chance that we can include an option to reference the user's Google Drive for persistent .vim + .vimrc and file system?

where are files ???

I hit save (:w) and files are not anywhere later on. Is it true that need to quit (:q) to really save them? I typed a bunch of stuff in a file only to lose it!!

Make it a tab

Make it a tab (like all Chrome apps should be). Stop following the 1990s MDI model. I'd expect a fellow vi lover to know better.

opening window width

When I oopen vim then open file the window size shows as 64 x 31. I would like it to open at 85 wide. My .vimrc is working, but set columns has no effect.

Any suggestions?
