Overview
Current ISO week number in your toolbar, plus week dates, Finnish flag days and school holidays. Type vk 42 in the address bar.
Viikko Nro shows the current week number in your browser toolbar. Week numbers follow the international ISO 8601 standard used in Finland and much of Europe. The extension is made by viikkonro.fi. TOOLBAR The icon shows the current week number, for example 42 or wk42. It updates by itself at midnight, and hovering over the icon shows the week's dates. POPUP • The week's dates from Monday to Sunday and how far the year has come • Arrows to step to earlier and later weeks • Today's Finnish flag day, for example Aleksis Kivi Day • The next winter or autumn school holiday in the city you choose, with a countdown School holiday dates come from official decisions by the Finnish National Agency for Education and the cities. The extension covers 21 Finnish cities. If a city has not confirmed a holiday yet, the extension says so instead of guessing. ADDRESS BAR Type vk, a space and a week number or date in the address bar: • vk 42 – the dates of week 42 • vk 42 2027 – week 42 of 2027 • vk 13.10.2026 – the week a date falls in Press Enter to open that week's page on viikkonro.fi. PRIVACY The extension collects no data and has no analytics or ads. It works offline and asks for only two permissions: storage for your settings and alarms for the midnight update. It cannot see the content of the pages you visit. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How are week numbers calculated? Weeks start on Monday, and week 1 is the week that contains the year's first Thursday. That is why the first days of January can belong to the last week of the previous year. How many weeks are in a year? 52 or 53. 2026 has 53 weeks, and week 53 runs from 28 December 2026 to 3 January 2027. Which languages does it support? Finnish and English. It follows your browser's language, and you can change it in the settings. More information: https://viikkonro.fi
