Overview

Finds the video and audio a page plays and saves it to your computer.

Vidzilla saves the video you're watching. Play a video on almost any site, click the Vidzilla button, and pick the quality. The file lands in your Downloads folder, at the quality the site sent. Nothing is re-encoded, and there's nothing to sign up for. What it saves • Plain video and audio files: MP4, WebM, MOV, MP3, M4A and more • HLS streams (.m3u8), including AES-128 encrypted ones, joined into one MP4 • DASH streams (.mpd), including WebM (VP9, AV1, Opus), with your choice of quality • Separate audio and video tracks, merged into one file, or the audio on its own • Subtitles, saved as .srt next to the video • Live streams: press Record, then Stop • Players that hide their stream: Record reloads the page and keeps what the player loads, from the start How it works Everything happens in your browser. Vidzilla watches the requests a page makes, recognises video and audio, and fetches the file the same way the page did. Streams are joined into a single file without re-encoding, so quality and sound stay exactly as the site sent them. Private by design No accounts, no analytics. Vidzilla talks to the sites that host the media you choose to save. It also fetches its short list of ads from vidzilla.followusai.com, and once a day checks there whether this copy paid to remove them. Nothing about you or your downloads is sent. Free, with an occasional ad Every few downloads, after the file is saved, Vidzilla shows a short ad for another app by the same maker, in its own popup. It never interrupts a download and never appears on the pages you visit. Settings > Ads turns them off for $0.99 a year or $9 once. Not supported • Video protected by DRM (Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Spotify and similar). Vidzilla shows it as protected and never tries to get around it. • YouTube, which Chrome Web Store policy doesn't allow. Please only save media you have the right to keep.
