Video Time Notes
Overview
Save timestamped notes for YouTube videos locally.
Video Time Notes lets you capture the current playback position while watching a regular YouTube video and save it as a time‑stamped note with accompanying text. From the saved notes you can open links to specific scenes in the video and search either within individual videos or across the entire list. - Retrieve a YouTube video’s ID, title, and current playback position - Create, edit, and delete notes that include a timestamp and text - View and search videos by individual video or by the overall list - Export and import JSON backups - Export notes in Markdown format per video - Switch the YouTube list view between “Standard,” “Hide Thumbnails,” and “Text List” - When explicitly enabled, save the resume position locally so you can continue watching from “Resume” - Data is stored in the user’s Chrome IndexedDB - During advertisements, live streams, or video switches, data capture is blocked to prevent erroneous recordings The resume‑position recording is disabled by default. Even when enabled, up to 500 videos can be saved locally in Chrome, and videos that have a view rate of 90% or higher or less than 30 seconds remaining are excluded from the list. There is no cloud synchronization or external transmission.
