One-click, source-grounded YouTube summaries beside your video, using your NotebookLM account.

Get the main ideas from a YouTube video without leaving the page. Click Summarize to add the video as a source in your own NotebookLM account. Video Summary requests a brief overview and 5–8 key takeaways, then displays the result in a sidebar beside the video. The summary follows the language of the video's transcript. • One click from a YouTube video or the extension's toolbar icon. • A persistent Summarize button that stays available as the page loads. It hides while the sidebar is open. • A short overview and key takeaways in a readable sidebar. • Copy the summary or open the source notebook for follow-up questions. • Reuse saved summaries and notebooks when you return to a video. • Light and dark appearance with a calm violet and cream design. GETTING STARTED Sign in to NotebookLM in the same browser profile, open a YouTube video, and click Summarize. A NotebookLM tab opens in the background to import the source and generate the response. Keep that tab open while it works. WHAT TO EXPECT NotebookLM needs an eligible public video with available captions. Summaries are based on the transcript, so visual-only details may be missed. Google account availability, source restrictions, and generation limits apply. This extension uses NotebookLM's website; changes to that website may require an extension update. AI summaries can contain mistakes; check the source when accuracy matters. YOUR DATA The selected video link, notebook title, and summary request go to Google through your own NotebookLM session. NotebookLM keeps the notebook and conversation in your Google account. The extension saves a copy of the summary, video and notebook links, and task state in this browser profile. The developer does not automatically receive your videos, summaries, credentials, or browsing history. There are no advertising or analytics trackers in the extension. Uninstalling clears the extension's local data; it does not delete notebooks from your Google account.
