Press = to speed a video up and - to slow it down. That's the whole extension. It works on YouTube and on any other site that plays video, including players embedded in other pages. WHAT YOU GET • Speed changes in steps of 0.25x, one key press each. You can change the step. • Any speed up to 16x. • A small speed display on the video. Click it to jump back to 1x. • Show the control on hover, keep it on screen, or hide it. Put it in any corner, or the middle of the top or bottom edge. • A running total of the time you've saved by watching faster. HOW TO USE 1. Reload any tab that already had a video open. 2. Press = to go faster and - to go slower. 3. Click the extension's toolbar icon to change the keys, the step or how the control looks. On a page with an embedded player, click the player once so it gets your key presses. The keys do nothing while you're typing in a search box or comment field. PRIVACY Video Speed Tool collects nothing about you or the pages you visit. It has no analytics, no account and no server. Your settings sync between your own browsers through your browser's sync, and the time-saved total stays on this device. On each one it finds the videos, changes their speed when you press a speed key, and draws the speed control over them. It checks each key press only to see if it's one of your two speed keys. It doesn't read page text, forms or your history. GOOD TO KNOW Audio may cut out above 4x. Browsers do that, not this extension.
