Overview
Timestamped receipts side panel for YouTube.
Vid Receipts adds a side panel to YouTube so you can read what other people noticed about a video, right next to the player. Open a video and the panel shows the community's receipts: timestamped notes pinned to specific moments. Someone flags a claim as questionable, another person adds the source that settles it, a third bookmarks the exact second a key detail appears. Each receipt sits on a timeline strip that tracks the video as it plays, so you can jump straight to the moment a note is about. You can read every public receipt without an account. Sign in to add your own: pin a note at the current time, format it, drop in a GIF or a video clip, and vote a claim up or down as evidence. Comment threads hang off each receipt, so a video turns into a conversation instead of a comment section that scrolls away. What it does: - Shows the public receipt feed for whatever YouTube video you are watching, no account required. - Puts a timeline of receipts above the player and keeps it in sync as the video plays. Click a marker or the strip to seek. - Lets signed-in viewers pin a timestamped note, with bold, italic, lists, quotes, links, GIFs, and trimmed video clips. - Lets you validate or invalidate a claim and vote on comments, so the strongest receipts rise. - Organizes receipts into feeds: the public feed, your private feed, and custom feeds you own or were invited to. - Surprise Me jumps you to a fresh video from the community's curated pool when you want something new to watch. - Shows a badge on the toolbar icon: your unread notification count when signed in, or the public receipt count for the video you're watching. Turn it off in the account section. - Follows your system light or dark theme, or lets you pick one for the panel. Nothing you add is uploaded to file storage. GIFs, embeds, and clips are all saved as links. The panel ships with no analytics and no crash reporting. Your sign-in and anything you post go only to the Vid Receipts backend. Video titles, thumbnails, channel names, and durations shown in the panel come from YouTube through the YouTube Data API.
