VibeProxy MCP Bridge connects a Gemini or ChatGPT chat tab to a VibeProxy sandbox running on your own computer, so the AI model can work on a project folder you choose: list and read files, search, edit, and run commands. The results come back into the same chat. REQUIREMENTS This extension needs the VibeProxy desktop app for Windows (free 7-day trial, then a one-time purchase in the Microsoft Store), which runs the sandbox server. Without it the extension has nothing to connect to. HOW IT WORKS 1. In VibeProxy, create a sandbox for a project folder and copy its connection prompt. 2. Paste it into the extension popup, or enter the sandbox ID and token by hand, and click Connect. 3. Open Gemini or ChatGPT. A small workspace chip appears in the message box. 4. Send your request. Your first message in the chat includes a short workspace summary that explains the command format to the model. 5. When the model replies with a command block, the extension shows it as a card listing each command. 6. Click Run. The commands run in your sandbox, and the results are pasted into the chat and sent. EXECUTION MODES - Ask every time (default): every command block waits for your click. - Ask before edits: read-only commands run, and their results are sent, automatically. Edits, shell commands, MCP tool calls and screenshots wait for your click. - Full auto: everything runs and results are sent without asking. Use it only with a workspace you can afford to lose. - Off: the bridge ignores the chat. You can pause the bridge, or switch it off for one chat, at any time. Opening an old chat or scrolling back never re-runs an earlier command. PRIVACY - No analytics, no telemetry, no developer server, no account. - The extension only contacts the sandbox address you enter: your own computer (localhost) or your own https tunnel. - Your token and settings are stored in your browser profile on your device. - Tool results are pasted into the chat, so the AI service you are using receives them when the message is sent.
