**Vet Radar Notification — never miss a patient or task update again** Vet Radar Notification is a lightweight Chrome extension built for veterinary teams who work out of the VetRadar patient board (app.vetradar.com). It watches the board in real time and plays a distinct audio chime the moment something changes — so your team can stay heads-down on patient care instead of constantly glancing at a screen to see what's new. Busy treatment areas are loud, fast, and easy to lose track of. A patient gets added, a task gets assigned, an order gets completed — and unless someone happens to be looking at the board at that exact second, it can slip by. This extension turns those silent visual updates into clear, customizable sounds you can actually hear across the room. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ WHAT IT ALERTS YOU TO ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🐾 Patient Added — a chime plays the instant a new patient appears on the board, so arrivals never go unnoticed. 👋 Patient Removed — hear when a patient is discharged or removed from the board. 🔔 New Task — get an audible alert when a task or order is assigned to any patient, so nothing waits in a queue unseen. ✅ Task Completed — a confirmation chime when a task is marked done, letting the team know an order has been handled without anyone needing to check. Each of these four event types is a completely independent channel. You decide which ones matter to your workflow and turn the rest off. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ FULLY CUSTOMIZABLE SOUNDS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ • Six built-in notification sounds to choose from for any channel. • Independent volume slider for every channel, plus a master volume that scales them all at once. • Enable or disable each channel individually. • Upload your own MP3 for any alert — drag and drop a custom sound so each event is instantly recognizable by ear alone. • A one-click "Play" button to preview any sound while you configure it, and per-channel "Reset" plus a "Restore All Defaults" button to get back to a known-good setup anytime. Assign a different sound to each event and your team will learn them fast — a quick rising chime for arrivals, a soft tone for completed tasks — no screen-checking required. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ THE STATUS WIDGET ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ A small, unobtrusive widget sits in the bottom-right corner of the VetRadar page and shows monitoring status at a glance: • GREEN — actively monitoring and sound is enabled. You're all set. • AMBER (pulsing) — monitoring is active, but the browser has temporarily paused audio (Chrome blocks sound until you interact with a freshly loaded page). A red badge counts how many alerts were missed while paused. One click anywhere on the page re-enables sound and clears the count — so a paused state is always obvious and never silent-by-surprise. • RED — not currently monitoring. Click the widget to start. • RED (pulsing) — an error was detected (for example, the patient list couldn't be found). Click to retry. That amber state exists for a specific real-world reason: when staff open a patient record and navigate back, Chrome reloads the page and mutes audio until the next click. Instead of leaving you guessing whether sound still works, the widget tells you plainly and shows exactly how many chimes you missed. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PRIVACY FIRST ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Your patient data never leaves your browser. This extension does NOT collect, store, or transmit any patient names, medical records, or clinical information. It reads the page only to detect that a change happened — the details are discarded immediately. The only thing saved is your own sound and volume preferences, stored locally on your device via Chrome's storage.
