Stop giving up half your screen for a video. Most videos on the web are built for full-width, full-attention viewing — a 16:9 rectangle that eats your whole browser window whether you're watching a 3-minute clip or a 3-hour lecture. If you're trying to code along with a tutorial, take notes during a lecture, follow a recipe while cooking, or review a call recording while writing up notes, that layout works against you. You end up constantly alt-tabbing, resizing windows, or picture-in-picturing things into a corner that's too small to actually see. VertiView fixes this by turning any video on any site into a slim, vertical 9:16 panel that floats on top of the page instead of taking it over. It stays out of the way of everything else you're doing, while still being big enough to actually watch. WHO THIS IS FOR Following a coding tutorial or course and want to keep your editor visible the whole time, instead of switching back and forth between the video and your code. Taking notes during a lecture, meeting recording, or webinar, and want the video running alongside your notes app rather than covering half the screen. Multitasking in general — cooking, assembling furniture, doing a workout — where you want the video visible but small, and the rest of your screen free for whatever else you're doing. Watching a widescreen video where the actual subject you care about is only in part of the frame, and you want to zoom and pan to that part instead of watching empty background. HOW IT WORKS Hover over any video on any page. A small "VertiView" button appears in the corner of the video. Click it. The video pops out into a fixed vertical panel, centered on your screen, sitting on top of the page content. Scroll your mouse wheel while hovering the video to zoom in, from 1x up to 4x, to frame in on the part of the frame that matters to you. Press Z or X while hovering the video to pan left and right within the zoomed frame. Use the fullscreen button in the panel's controls bar any time you want to switch to a full-viewport view instead of the vertical panel, and again to switch back. Click the exit button when you're done, and the video drops right back into its original spot on the page, exactly as it was. WHAT VERTIVIEW DOES NOT DO VertiView only changes how a video is displayed in your browser. It does not download, save, export, re-encode, or otherwise modify the underlying video file. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, and no video content ever leaves your browser or gets sent to any server. It's a display layer, not a video tool. WORKS EVERYWHERE VertiView works on any page with a standard HTML5 video element — course platforms, video call recordings, news sites, blogs, streaming sites, and more.
