VERSO Legal Archiver helps you keep web material before it changes or disappears, document its capture context and prepare a record that is easier to examine and share, on screen or on paper. Use it to prepare material for a lawyer, a court or an authority; the competent authority determines its evidential value. PRINT AND SHARE Each attestation PDF combines the capture report and captured pages with continuous page numbering. Its footer includes the capture date and a manifest fingerprint. Keep the source URL, declared operator, case reference and notes with the files. Source pages retain their dimensions: use “Fit to A4” when necessary. Keep the original digital ZIP alongside paper copies. Page numbering is within each attestation PDF, not across an entire site collection. PRESERVE A PAGE OR A SITE SELECTION Save PDF, image and MHTML copies of the open page, or discover and review selected public pages from one site. Follow progress, Pause, Resume or Stop. Stop waits for the current page and preserves completed captures. Collections support up to 200 pages and one ZIP up to 1 GB. Ordinary numbered page folders, a navigation index, search and local previews make the record easy to consult. CHECK INTEGRITY The offline verifier recomputes SHA-256 fingerprints and compares saved files with the manifest. This checks whether files have changed; it does not establish the truth of a page’s claims. Preserve warnings, missing-page information and technical records. OPTIONAL TIMESTAMP EVIDENCE FreeTSA provides a timestamp response whose fingerprint, signature and certificate chain can be checked. A successfully verified timestamp can support the existence of those data by the stated time. OpenTimestamps provides separate evidence linked to later Bitcoin confirmation; the initial proof may be incomplete and need subsequent upgrade and verification. A request or downloaded response alone is not proof of successful verification. No qualified eIDAS status is established. OPTIONAL INDEPENDENT ARCHIVE Request a public copy through Internet Archive / Wayback Machine. This is distinct from the local capture: a request is not a confirmed archive, and content or rendering may differ. Internet Archive receives the requested URL and account credentials when used. Its copy is public and may persist. Optional services stay off until chosen and the required permissions are granted. Google DNS is also optional. SEVEN REPORT LANGUAGES Generate English, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese attestation PDFs from one capture. Only generated report text is translated; source content and your notes keep their original language. LOCAL FILES AND RECOVERY Captures are not uploaded to VERSO OSINT. Temporary local recovery remains available for 24 hours; keep your downloaded ZIP for longer preservation. A size-limited collection can continue in a new bundle by reusing verified captures still available locally, with their original dates and evidence, without new timestamp or public-copy requests. SCOPE AND LIMITS Site discovery follows public rendered links on the same protocol, host and port, respects robots.txt and does not bypass access restrictions. Unlinked, private or interaction-dependent pages may remain outside the traversal. Site collections use a dedicated incognito session and require Chrome’s incognito permission. Integrity, completeness and truth are different questions. Legal Archiver supports documentation and traceability; it does not guarantee admissibility or replace an official finding.
