Overview

Restates dense documents (policies, specs, contracts, forms and papers) in plain English, quoting the exact wording.

Work runs on documents nobody wrote to be easy: policies and procedures, technical specs, official notices, contracts, offer letters, forms and papers. The part that matters is usually buried in a long sentence full of conditions. VERIDIC reads it with you and puts it in plain English — and it always quotes the exact wording it is talking about, so you can check it against the document yourself. HIGHLIGHT ANY PASSAGE Select a passage on any page and click "Read in plain words". VERIDIC explains what it says, why it is worded that way, the terms it uses, and any dates or deadlines in it. Tell it what kind of document you are reading — a policy or procedure, a technical document, a contract or terms page, a financial or tax form, an academic paper — or leave it on "Any" and it works that out. READ A WHOLE PAGE Open VERIDIC on a policy, a spec, a terms page or an online contract and choose "Read this whole page". It reads every dense passage and restates the ones worth reading twice — requirements and approvals, notice periods, renewals, price changes, what happens to your data — each one quoted, with "Find it on the page" to jump straight to it. CHECK A JOB OFFER Switch to "Job offer" and VERIDIC reads an offer letter against a fixed list: pay, allowances, start date, probation, notice, restrictions after you leave, leave, and the conditions of the offer — and tells you which of those the letter does not mention at all. PDFs AND WORD DOCUMENTS Many of the documents that matter arrive as attachments. Open a PDF or .docx and VERIDIC reads it on your computer; only the text is sent for analysis, never the file. DATES THAT MATTER Deadlines VERIDIC finds — a notice period, a renewal date, "accept by 30 September" — can be tracked in one place, added to your calendar, and summarised in an optional weekly digest. A date is only filled in when the document states it; a deadline that depends on a date VERIDIC cannot know is kept, with no reminder guessed for it. KNOW WHEN A DOCUMENT CHANGES Watch a policy, a terms page or any document you rely on. The next time you open the page, VERIDIC tells you if the wording has changed and shows you what was added or removed. COMPARE TWO VERSIONS Paste a draft and the final version to see every sentence that was reworded, added or removed, with changed figures called out. IN YOUR LANGUAGE Explanations can be written in 16 languages, and read aloud. FREE AND PAID • Free: 5 reads a day, no account needed. • Passes (optional, paid through Paystack in Nigerian naira): 7 days ₦5,300, 30 days ₦10,600, 1 year ₦65,000. Unlimited reads while the pass lasts. A pass is a single payment and ends by itself — nothing to cancel. Passes need a free VERIDIC account. PRIVACY • The passage you choose to read is sent to VERIDIC's analysis service and passed to a language model to be explained. VERIDIC does not store it, and it is sent only to model providers that do not keep it or train on it. • Where Chrome's built-in AI is available, you can choose to read on your own device, with nothing sent anywhere. • Watched pages, tracked dates, history and settings stay in your browser. • Diagnostics are off unless you turn them on. Full policy: https://extension-veridic.vercel.app/privacy WHAT VERIDIC IS NOT VERIDIC explains what a document says. Its explanations are written by AI and no person reviews them, so check anything important against the quoted wording. It is not legal, medical, tax or financial advice. For a decision with real money or real risk attached, take the document to a professional. Medical and clinical documents are declined rather than interpreted. If the analysis service is busy, VERIDIC says so and shows a clearly labelled offline explanation instead.
