Overview
Track language. Trace meaning. Read foreign-language websites interlinearly and explore words and phrases with the iSpicker.
Trace language as it lives. VeraLinear currently supports six languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, and German. More languages are coming soon. From the very beginning, you’ll read authentic language—in news articles, essays, specialized texts, and other content that truly interests you. You don’t have to wait until you’ve mastered a language perfectly, and you’re not limited to simplified learning texts or standard, pre-made language exercises. You read foreign-language websites in their original form. VeraLinear supplements the text only where you need support, rather than replacing it with a complete translation. This keeps sentence structure, word order, and linguistic context visible. Over time, you’ll find it easier to recognize recurring patterns and will increasingly pick up grammar intuitively from real-world examples. The optional interlinear track displays brief translation aids directly above the original text. This allows you to maintain your reading flow and gradually reduce or completely turn off the support as your confidence grows. With the iSpicker, you can select individual words or entire passages and examine them more closely. You’ll see translations, parts of speech, and—where available—suitable alternatives. Multi-part phrases and idiomatic expressions can be viewed as cohesive units. Here’s what VeraLinear offers: • Read foreign-language websites directly in your browser • Start working early with authentic and engaging texts • Keep the original text and sentence structure fully visible • Recognize recurring linguistic and grammatical patterns • Use the optional interlinear track as a subtle reading aid • Examine words and text passages with the iSpicker • Compare translation alternatives within the respective context • Recognize expressions and idioms as cohesive units • Privately save your own translations and corrections • Submit suggestions for improving the shared language database • Set the language direction and tools at any time in the extension menu • Link personal entries to your VeraLinear account VeraLinear is designed for people who want to spend their study time with content they would also read in their own language: current news, culture, science, politics, specialized topics, or personal interests. Instead of isolated example sentences, you’ll encounter language in real contexts—with exactly as much support as you need at any given moment. You decide for yourself how much help is visible. You can use the interlinear track in its entirety, examine only individual words with the iSpicker, or temporarily turn off VeraLinear. Here’s how it works: 1. Install VeraLinear and connect it to your account. 2. Select the source and target languages. 3. Open a website in a foreign language. 4. Turn on the interlinear track or look up individual words and text passages with the iSpicker. VeraLinear processes visible page text or text you select, to the extent necessary for the desired language features. The extension pauses on login, payment, and other recognized sensitive pages.
