Productivity tool for Veeva Vault CRM admins — API badges, record editing, metadata export (CSV/XLSX/JSON), bulk import and search.

Overview Veeva Vault Admin Helper is a side panel extension that surfaces technical metadata directly inside your Vault session. It is designed for Vault CRM administrators who regularly work with API names, inspect records, export metadata, or import data in bulk. All processing runs locally in the browser. No data is sent to any external server. No telemetry. No dependencies. Works with Veeva Vault CRM & Event --- Features Home Displays a colour-coded API name badge next to every field on the current Vault page. Clicking a badge copies the API name to clipboard. Badge colours indicate the field type: Orange — standard field Blue — section Green — lookup / relation Grey — navigation tab The last copied field name is shown persistently. The field list updates automatically when the panel gains focus. --- Data Auto-detects the current record from the page URL, including single-page application navigation. Displays the object type and record ID. Clicking the ID copies it to clipboard. The Edit layout button opens the Vault layout editor for the current object directly. Page Data Panel — injected into the Vault page on demand: Full field list with label, API name, type, and current value Inline editing for editable fields with Save and Reset Filter bar across name, API name, and value Toggles to show modified fields only, hide empty fields, or hide read-only fields Export as CSV or XLSX Copy full record JSON Event Object Tabs — on EM Event pages, switches to list view for related objects (Attendees, Team Members, Speakers, Budgets, Materials, and more): Real-time filter and column visibility toggles Inline editing Export as CSV, XLSX, or JSON --- Search Search by API name or label across objects, fields, or both. Results link directly to the object or field in Vault. Search by Vault ID: enter any record ID and the extension runs a VQL query to find the matching object and opens it in Vault. --- Export Export the complete field metadata for any object as CSV, JSON, or XLSX. Export any individual record by Vault ID as CSV, JSON, or XLSX. Recent exports are saved locally with a re-download option. The history can be cleared at any time. --- Import Four-step wizard for bulk record creation or update. Step 1 — Source: Load data from an XLSX or CSV file (drag and drop or file picker), or paste directly from Excel. Supported encodings: UTF-8, UTF-8 BOM, Windows-1252. Supported separators: tab, semicolon, comma. Step 2 — Object: Select the target Vault object with autocomplete. Choose between Update (requires an ID column) and Create modes. Step 3 — Mapping: Map each source column to a Vault API field name. Fields load from live Vault metadata. Columns whose names exactly match a field API name are mapped automatically. Step 4 — Run: Configurable batch size and inter-batch delay. Real-time progress bar and log. Stop button cancels the running import. An XLSX report is generated automatically on completion, containing a summary, a row-by-row detail sheet, and the source data. Safety limits: 10 MB file size, 30 000 rows, 200 columns. --- Environment detection The extension detects the active Vault environment (Production, Sandbox, Staging) and shows a colour band at the top of the panel. When you switch between Vault tabs, the panel updates automatically within a second.
