vAuto Quick Switch

Fast entity search and favorites for vAuto — skip the modal, stay in flow.

Find and switch to any vAuto account in seconds. vAuto Quick Switch adds a search box to the vAuto header. Instead of opening the account picker and hunting through lists, you type a name or account code and click the result. That's it: you're switched. Built for vAuto users who work across many dealer accounts every day. GET STARTED IN THREE STEPS Click the magnifier at the top right of any vAuto page (or press Ctrl+K / ⌘K). Type a name or account code. Two letters is enough. Click the account (or use ↑ ↓ and press Enter). A short built-in guide walks you through the rest the first time you install it. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Search everything: find accounts by name, account code or dealer group. Matching text is highlighted, an exact account code comes first, and Clear search lets you start over without closing Quick Switch. • Favorites: star the accounts you use most and they're one click away every time you open Quick Switch. Shift-click a second star to add a whole list at once. Removed one by mistake? Undo brings it back. • Folders and names: group favorites into folders, give any favorite a name you'll recognise, and arrange them your way or keep them A–Z. Edit mode moves or removes several at once. • Jump into Stockwave, Conquest or iRecon: turn on a shortcut for any favorite, and one click switches the account and opens that product. • Open accounts side by side: Ctrl/⌘-click or middle-click any result to open it in a new tab without losing your place. • Explore dealer groups: see every store in a group, jump from a store to its parent group, and use the Current tab to list every store in the group you're working in. • Recents: the last 100 accounts you visited, ready to reopen. • Automatic backups: favorites are backed up to Chrome sync and to vAuto's site data on your computer, and restored automatically if you reinstall. You can also export them to a file to move to a new computer or share with a colleague. • Settings and help: the gear in Quick Switch (or the toolbar icon) shows backup status, export and import, keyboard shortcuts, the guide, and what's new in each update. • Feels native: matches vAuto's look and fonts, so it feels like part of the product. KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS (OPTIONAL) • Ctrl+K / ⌘K: open or close Quick Switch • ↑ ↓: move through results • Enter: switch to the highlighted account • ← →: switch between Favorites, Recents and Current • Ctrl/⌘+Enter: open in a new tab (add Shift to go to it) • Esc: close PRIVACY • Runs only on vAuto pages (*.vauto.app.coxautoinc.com). • Uses your existing vAuto sign-in: no separate login, and no passwords stored. • No analytics, no tracking, no outside servers. It talks only to vAuto, using the same requests your browser already makes. • Your favorites stay in your browser, in your Chrome sync backup and in vAuto's site data on your computer. • Only one permission: storage.
