VaultBridge
Overview
Move your bookmarks, tabs, cookies and more between browsers — one encrypted file, no accounts, no internet.
VaultBridge — move your browser, keep your stuff Switching browsers or computers shouldn't mean losing your bookmarks, open tabs, and saved sign-ins. VaultBridge packs your browser data into a single encrypted file that you carry yourself — on a USB stick, through the cloud storage you already use, or however you like. There is no VaultBridge account and no VaultBridge server; the data goes only where you take the file. Back up Save your bookmarks (full folder structure), cookies and sign-ins, open tabs and tab groups, browsing history, reading list, default site-permission settings, your extension list, top sites, and recently-closed tabs into one encrypted .vbf file. Category cards show live counts before you save, and a preview shows real sample items so you know exactly what moves. Automatic first backup The moment you install VaultBridge, it makes your first backup for you — no clicks, no setup. The file is saved to your Downloads folder and a copy is kept inside the extension. Restore Open a .vbf file and load its contents into a new browser. Bookmarks are restored into a dated folder (duplicates are skipped), tabs and tab groups reopen, cookies are re-imported to carry your sign-ins over, and your extension list comes back as a one-click reinstall checklist with store links. Private by design Works fully offline. No analytics, no telemetry, no remote code, no account, and no syncing to a server — there are no servers. Your data never leaves your machine except in the encrypted file you choose to carry. Files are encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a fresh random nonce and salt per backup. Simple, with an optional password By default, backups open with no password on any computer. If you want a secret only you know, tick "Lock this backup with a password" when saving; you'll be asked for it once when restoring. Honest limits Browsers do not allow extensions to read saved passwords or autofill data, so VaultBridge cannot move those — use your browser's built-in password sync. Browsers also forbid writing into the history list, so history is restored as a clearly named, searchable bookmark folder, and they forbid one extension from installing another, so extensions are restored as a reinstall checklist. Some sites may still ask you to sign in again on a new machine; that is the site protecting you, and no tool can promise otherwise. Show less
