Vault — Private Video Bookmarks

Private, local-only video bookmarks with tags, cast, ratings and favourite moments.

Vault is a private library for the videos you love, from any website, kept only on your own device. Bookmarks folders turn into a mess of untitled links, and video sites forget what you watched. Vault saves every video with its title, thumbnail and length in one click, lets you tag it, rate it and mark your favourite moments, and helps you find it again in seconds. There's no account, no cloud and no tracking: your library never leaves your browser. WHY INSTALL VAULT • One click to save any video page. Title, thumbnail and length fill in by themselves. • Never save the same video twice. Vault recognises pages you've already saved, even when the link has tracking parameters, and warns you about likely duplicates with the same title or a near-identical thumbnail. • Find anything fast with powerful filters and sorting. • Jump straight back to the best part with favourite moments. • Completely private: everything stays on your device. SAVE IN ONE CLICK • Click the Vault icon on a video page and the details are filled in for you. • Add tags and cast with smart autocomplete. Typing "jan" or an alias finds "Jane". • Give it a star rating, a note and its length. • Already saved? Vault shows the saved video instead of the form, so you can't save it twice by accident. FAVOURITE MOMENTS • Mark the times you like in a video, right where you paused, and give each moment its own tags. • Click a moment later to jump the video straight back to that time. • Moment tags count in your filters, so searching a tag finds the exact moment, not just the video. FIND IT AGAIN • Combine filters: title search, several tags at once, cast, site and a length range from 0 to 2h+. • Sort by date added, length or rating. • A clean, uniform grid with thumbnails, lengths, ratings and tags. Rate videos right from the grid. • Browse and search your library from the toolbar popup, too. • Open all the results of a filter at once in one new window, grouped together. KEEP IT ORGANISED • Rename, merge or delete tags across every video in one step. • A Cast page with a card for everyone, with optional profile photos (upload one, or pick a thumbnail from their videos). • Give cast members usual tags: add the cast member while saving and their tags fill in by themselves. • Give cast members aliases, and merge duplicates when the same person was saved under two names. • Change a video's link when you find a better source. Vault remembers the old link too. • Use the page's thumbnail, fetch a fresh one, or upload, drop or paste your own image. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Your library is stored only in your browser on your own device. No account, no servers, no analytics, no tracking. • Optional PIN lock that locks again after inactivity and when Chrome closes. • Optionally open videos in an Incognito window to keep them out of your regular history. • Works in Incognito windows too, with the same private library. BACKUPS YOU CONTROL • Download your whole library as a backup file at any time, including your own thumbnails. • Protect backups with a password: the file is encrypted on your device. • Send a backup to yourself with your computer's Share menu (for example by email) to move your library to another computer. • Restoring merges safely: nothing is duplicated and nothing is deleted. PERMISSIONS, EXPLAINED Vault reads a page only when you click its button, to fill in the save form. It can't see your other tabs or your browsing history. Two features ask for extra access only when you turn them on, and you can switch them off in Settings at any time: thumbnail matching (to spot duplicate videos by their thumbnails) and fetching a thumbnail from a saved link. Vault is not a video downloader. It saves links, details and your own notes, not the videos themselves.
