Watch foreign-language videos in your own language. No sign-up. Open it and try. uTranslate Live adds live captions and bilingual translation to videos, live streams, and podcasts. The side panel helps you follow along while you watch, and find it again afterward. 💬 Captions and translation • Captions are added automatically, from the video’s own subtitles or live speech recognition, depending on the video • Translates into 30 languages, with your browser language listed first • Switch between translation only, both languages, or the original only • Adjust the font size, background, position, and size 📖 Follow along • Read the captions in the side panel and search what this video said • Look up unfamiliar terms, and see caption corrections • Ask questions about what you are watching • Summarize the last 5 minutes, or everything from the start until now • Answers and summaries point back to the matching captions. If the player supports it, you can jump to that moment 🗂️ Find it later • Search caption history saved on this device by title, original text, translation, or summary • Export SRT, plain text, or Markdown notes that include the summary • Pause saving, or delete the history stored on this device 🌐 Interface language The interface follows your browser language. It supports Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, German, French, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Arabic, Turkish, Thai, Indonesian, Malay, and Brazilian Portuguese. Other languages are shown in English. ▶️ How to use it 1. Open a video page 2. Click the uTranslate Live icon in the toolbar 3. Read and accept the data-use notice 4. Choose the language to translate into, then turn captions on Open the side panel when you want to read, ask, or get a summary. 📌 Where it works • If the browser can hear the audio playing on the page, it works on most video and audio sites, including live streams and podcasts • Protected content, pages the browser restricts, and some players may not work • Recognition and translation may be wrong or delayed. Check AI-assisted results against the original 🔒 How your data is used Recognition, translation, and Q&A need an internet connection. The content required for those features is sent to cloud services. In the version you can use without an account, after you agree, we also upload captions, translations, the page address and title, AI results, your questions, and usage records. This keeps the service running and helps us fix problems. The data is linked to a random installation identifier. History saved on this device is kept separate from what is uploaded to the cloud. Incognito windows do not save local caption history, and do not upload a record of that viewing session. Recognition, translation, and Q&A still run in the cloud.
