Overview

Build campaign URLs and catch the casing, spacing and channel mistakes that quietly split analytics reports. Works offline.

UTM Forge builds tagged campaign URLs and tells you what is wrong with them before you ship the link. Most UTM builders just glue parameters onto a URL. The damage shows up weeks later in your reports: "Email" and "email" sitting in two different rows, "summer sale" arriving as "summer+sale", a medium of "ppc" that Google Analytics never sorts into Paid Search. UTM Forge catches those while you are still typing. WHAT IT DOES - Assembles utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content onto any http or https URL. - Preserves the query string that is already on your link. Existing parameters survive, UTM values are merged and overwritten in place rather than blindly appended, and a #fragment stays where it belongs at the end. - Adds https:// when you paste a bare domain, and refuses schemes that cannot carry campaign parameters. - Copies the finished link in one click. THE LINTER Non-blocking, plain-language warnings, each one explaining the cost and offering the fix: - Uppercase in a value. GA4 compares these byte for byte, so "Newsletter" and "newsletter" become two separate rows. - Spaces, which encode as "+" or "%20" and read badly in every report. - Inconsistent casing across the set, so one campaign does not arrive split in half. - Mediums that Google does not recognise: e-mail, ppc, social-media, newsletter and friends, each mapped to the conventional value. - Shorthand sources such as fb or yt that will not merge with traffic Google already attributes. - A missing source / medium / campaign trio. - A destination URL that is invalid, or that already carries its own UTM parameters. Most warnings come with a one-click fix that rewrites the value for you. PRESETS AND HISTORY Save a source, medium and campaign combination under a name and reapply it in one click. The last ten links you copied stay in a list, ready to load straight back into the form for editing. PRIVACY UTM Forge asks for a single permission: storage. It requests no host permissions, injects no content scripts, and cannot read or modify any web page you visit. It makes no network requests of any kind - there is no analytics, no telemetry and no remote code. Every font and script is bundled in the package, so the whole extension works with the network off. Your presets, your history and your in-progress link are held in chrome.storage.local on your own machine. Nothing is ever transmitted anywhere.
