Overview

Keep your usual events beside Google Calendar's week and day, and drag one onto a time to schedule it.

Most weeks are built from the same few events: a workout, a call home, deep work, groceries, a lesson. Usuals keeps them in a sidebar beside Google Calendar's Week and Day views. Drag one onto a time and it becomes a real event on your calendar, with the length, colour, reminder, location and notes you gave it. HOW IT WORKS • Add an item once: a name, how long it takes, and which of your calendars it belongs to. Items are grouped by calendar, in that calendar's colour. • Drag it onto the week. The event appears where you dropped it. • Hold Shift as you drop to make it repeat weekly. • Changed your mind? Press Undo in the confirmation and the event is gone. WORKS FROM THE KEYBOARD Everything you can drag, you can also do without a mouse: pick an item with its calendar button, then click a slot or choose a day and time in the form. YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS • No server, no account, no tracking. Usuals talks only to Google's Calendar API, to list your calendars and to create (or undo) the events you place. • Your items are kept in Chrome's own storage and follow you to your other computers through Chrome sync. • Export your items to a file and import them back at any time. • Usuals only creates events on calendars you own, and never reads, changes or deletes your other events. FITS IN The sidebar is drawn to look like part of Google Calendar, in light or dark, and steps aside in Month, Year and Schedule views, which keep Google's own layout.
