Usage Bar for Claude adds a compact, native-feeling usage indicator directly into the Claude.ai website so you can keep an eye on your Claude plan usage and current chat context without leaving the conversation, along with a chat cache prediction timer. When you are inside a chat, the extension asks Claude's own conversation endpoint for token-shaped fields and uses those numbers when they are present. When that data is not available (a brand new chat, an endpoint change, or a network hiccup), it falls back to a character-count estimate that does not include the system prompt, attachments, or other hidden context.
