Click the extension icon to instantly shorten the current tab’s address using trusted services (TinyURL or Bitly). The experience is fast and lightweight—no sign-in required for TinyURL, and Bitly support is available for users who prefer their own API token. Privacy is built in: the extension only uses the “tabs” permission to read the active tab’s URL, and it connects solely to the shortening providers specified in the manifest (tinyurl.com and api-ssl.bitly.com). No page content is read or stored; the URL is sent to the selected service and the shortened link is returned for you to copy and share. Minimal permissions, clear purpose, and a simple popup flow make it ideal for day-to-day sharing, QR placement, social posts, and documentation.
