Overview
Check URLs for browsing safety from the autocomplete area.
This extension is available for free from the Chrome Web Store. Once you types a URL in your browser address bar, this smart tool checks the URL and returns a result (the domain is safe, unrecognized or unsafe) in the autocomplete area of your address bar. If a URL is unrecognized or unsafe, we offer you to either proceed with Incognito or with a proxy. In this extension, we use a third-party database to provide the safety information. We cannot guarantee that for all the URLs that you type in the address bar, a result will be provided, due to the limited size of the database. Permissions requested: 1. Access to “contextMenus”. We customize the extension’s drop-down menu by adding convenient service tabs to improve your user experience. 2. Access to “cookies”. We use cookies to remember your setting preferences. It’s strictly functional and doesn’t collect any other information beyond that. 3. Change your default search to our search domain urlsafety-search.com powered by Yahoo. We need to use a placeholder domain to replace your default search in order to provide the key functionality in your browser address bar. You can always change it to Google or Bing.
