URL Rewrite
Overview
Mock APIs, redirect CDN to localhost, block trackers. Rewrite network requests with regex. Built for web developers.
URL Rewrite is a lightweight Chrome extension for frontend engineers and web debuggers who need to control network requests without editing application code or changing server config. Use it to: • Redirect production bundles or APIs to localhost • Replace version strings, file names, or URL fragments • Add, replace, or remove query parameters such as debug=1 • Block analytics, advertising, or noisy third-party requests • Limit rules to specific active sites to avoid unintended effects Key features: • Four rule types: Replace, Redirect, Query Param, and Block • Match by full URL or hostname • Match modes: Contains, Equals, Regex, and Wildcard • Built-in examples for common local debugging scenarios • Bulk actions for enabling, disabling, exporting, and deleting rules • JSON import/export and a full-screen management page with focused rule dialogs • Local rule storage through Chrome extension storage This extension has one clear purpose: user-controlled request rewriting for development and debugging workflows. It does not require user accounts, does not sync rules to a remote backend, and does not execute remote code.
