Upload Helper for FanFiction.net (unofficial)
Overview
Retries FanFiction.net's "Processing Error" until your document actually uploads, and keeps your formatting.
Adding a document to the fanfiction.net doc manager often fails incorrectly with "Processing Error: The document is not in a supported format, over 5MB, or password-protected." Clicking Submit another twenty times tends to work, so this does the clicking for you. I know. Innovative. All this extension does: - Retries the upload every few seconds, up to 60 times, and tells you how it's going - Keeps scene breaks like * * * and ~~~, which FFN otherwise deletes without warning - Converts .docx, .txt and .html files in your browser, so centred titles, italics from Word styles and paragraph breaks survive the cleansing - Checks file size and type first, so it doesn't keep retrying something that was never going to work (learned that one the hard way) This only runs on the doc manager pages and doesn't collect anything. Not affiliated with FanFiction.net. Open source at: https://github.com/tracefiction/ffn-upload-helper I also made Trace (tracefiction.com), another tool for FanFiction.net and AO3 that keeps track of what you're reading.
