Unwatch
Overview
Get a quick skip-or-watch call on a YouTube video from its transcript, then ask it questions. Bring your own LLM key.
If you pile up more YouTube videos and podcasts than you'll ever actually watch, this is for making the call on which ones to skip. It adds a side panel to the watch page. Hit Extract from this video and it grabs the transcript, sends it to whichever LLM you point it at (with your own API key), and hands back two things: A quick read — new, seen, or mixed — on whether this video is actually saying anything you haven't already heard. It judges that against the videos you've saved before, not against some vague idea of "AI slop in general," so it gets better at catching repeats the more you use it. The main claims as timestamped bullets. Click one to jump straight to that part of the video. From there, the Chat tab lets you ask questions about that transcript or have it redo the bullets. Download saves the transcript, the extract, or the chat. Library is everything you've kept. There's no Unwatch server in the middle. Your API key lives in this browser and goes only to the provider you chose — Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google Gemini. Nothing is logged, tracked, or sent anywhere else. Works in English and Spanish, both the panel and the model's answers. You'll need a YouTube video that has captions, and an API key from Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google.
