Untranslate for YouTube
Overview
Keep YouTube titles, descriptions, thumbnails, audio and subtitles in their original language. No tracking, no accounts.
YouTube increasingly translates titles, descriptions, thumbnails and even audio into your browser language. Untranslate puts the creator's original back. What it does - Video titles: original titles in feeds, search, the watch page and the tab title. - Descriptions: the uploader's own description text. - Thumbnails: original thumbnails instead of localized ones. - Audio track (desktop): always original, or a language you pick when available. - Subtitles: your preferred language; if a video does not offer it, subtitles stay off. - Translation tooltip, master switch, Alt+Shift+U shortcut, Reset. Private by design - Runs only on www.youtube.com. - Only permission: storage (to remember your switches). - No analytics, no accounts, no remote code, no servers of our own. Not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
