)Overview
Shows a Gmail inbox unread-count badge, refreshes automatically, and opens or focuses your Gmail tab.
Unread Checker for Gmail keeps your Gmail inbox count visible in Chrome without opening another inbox tab every time. Features: - Shows unread Gmail inbox count on the extension badge - Updates from Gmail's visible inbox counter after reading, deleting, archiving, or changing read status - Refreshes automatically on a configurable interval, including a 30-second option - Lets you refresh manually from the options page or right-click menu - Refreshes the unread count when you click the toolbar icon - Opens Gmail or focuses your existing Gmail tab without creating duplicates - Stores settings and unread count locally in Chrome The badge counts unread inbox messages in the default signed-in Gmail account. Deleting an already-read message does not reduce the unread count. When the displayed inbox counter is unavailable, the extension uses Gmail's inbox feed as a fallback. Version 1.0.7 fixes stale counts after deleting unread messages and prevents older feed responses from restoring an outdated count. The extension does not read email bodies or attachments or send your data to any developer server. Gmail is a trademark of Google LLC. This extension is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or produced by Google LLC.
