Unplay — Block YouTube Videos, Channels & Keywords
Overview
Block YouTube videos, channels or title keywords behind a 6-digit PIN. Local only, no accounts, no tracking.
Unplay puts a parent back in control of YouTube. Block exactly the content you don't want — and lock it behind a PIN so a kid can't undo it. Block by: • Specific video — paste a YouTube link or ID • Channel — by name or @handle • Keyword — any word in a video title (block whole topics at once) When a blocked video is opened, it's paused and covered with a full-screen notice instead of playing. Blocked channels and keywords are also hidden from the home page, search, and sidebars — so they're never even suggested. The block list is protected by a 6-digit PIN, stored only as a secure hash on your device (never in plain text). You can set an optional hint in case you forget — there is no recovery, because the PIN itself is never stored. Why you'll want it: • Simple — add a video, channel, or keyword in seconds • Kid-proof — the list can't be changed without your PIN • Private — 100% local. No accounts, no tracking, no servers; nothing ever leaves your browser • No ads — blocked videos never load, so there's nothing to advertise Great for parents who want a calmer, safer YouTube for their kids — or for anyone who wants specific channels and topics kept out of their own feed. Not affiliated with YouTube or Google.
