Unit Prefix Sanity Checker
Overview
Confidence overlay for engineering values. Flags suspicious unit/prefix combinations that commonly hide 10×/1000× mistakes.
Unit Prefix Sanity Checker is a “confidence overlay” for engineering values. It scans webpages (datasheets, forums, supplier pages, documentation) and flags suspicious unit/prefix combinations that commonly hide 10× / 1000× mistakes — then suggests the most likely intended value. What it catches mF vs µF / nF (common capacitor typo) mH vs µH (small inductor mix-ups) mA vs A (signal/MCU current confusion) kHz vs MHz (timing & clock mistakes) b vs B (bits vs bytes, 8× errors) mm vs m (mechanical 1000× errors) …and more across electrical, mechanical, data, pressure, flow, and temperature units. What you get On-page highlights with an explanation of why it’s suspicious Suggested corrections and quick copy (normalized or SI format) Category presets (Electrical, Embedded, Mechanical, HVAC, Data, All) Optional PDF text analysis + findings report (when supported) Privacy No tracking, no ads, no accounts. All analysis runs locally in your browser and only your settings are stored. If you like the extension consider buying me a ko-fi! https://ko-fi.com/nickir
