UniPlay — Video Speed Control
Overview
One speed control for every website. Global default or per-site — sticks across reloads.
UniPlay gives you a single popup to control playback speed on any website — video or audio. Every site has a different player. Many have no speed control at all. And even when they do, your speed resets on reload. UniPlay solves all three problems at once. FEATURES • One popup for any website — no more hunting for speed controls • Global default speed, remembered across tabs and reloads • Pin a different speed per site (e.g. 1.5x on YouTube, 2x on podcasts) • Automatically re-applies speed when a site tries to reset it • Works with both <video> and <audio> elements • 12 speed presets from 0.25x to 2.5x • Badge on the extension icon shows the active speed at a glance • Dark and light mode support • Available in 12 languages MINIMAL FOOTPRINT No hotkeys. No overlays. No UI injected into pages. UniPlay injects the absolute minimum into every page — just enough to set the speed, nothing more. This means fewer conflicts with site players, no visual clutter, and no slowdowns. OPEN SOURCE UniPlay is free and open source. Source code is available on GitHub: https://github.com/vladkens/uniplay-ext No data collection. No tracking. No accounts required.
