Overview
Type in any language or shorthand; press Alt+Enter or Caps Lock to convert in place across ChromeOS and Crostini.
UnimeType is a ChromeOS input method for converting multilingual or shorthand text. Type in an input field, then press Alt+Enter or Caps Lock to convert it. Press Alt+Shift+Enter or Alt+Caps Lock to open the menu, then choose Polish or Explain. English stays on. Choose up to three additional languages. Chinese (Pinyin), Japanese (Romaji), Hindi and Arabic appear first; Russian, Greek, Vietnamese, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German and Italian are also available. AI features require your own HTTPS API endpoint, API key and compatible model. Settings and the API key are saved locally in the extension. Invoking Convert, Polish or Explain sends the action text, model instructions and API credential to the provider you configured. AI text processing is off until you explicitly allow it for your configured endpoint and Save. You can withdraw permission in settings; changing the endpoint requires consent again. Provider charges and data-retention policies apply; AI results can vary. Store images are illustrative examples and a local preview of the included setup page.
