UniConv – Unit & Currency Converter

Convert prices, units, colors, time zones and lab values right where you are: select text, right-click, done.

Stop opening a new tab every time you see a price in another currency or a measurement in another unit. UniConv converts it right where you are. HOW IT WORKS Select text on any page, such as "USD 56.231", "12.5 km" or "-5°C", then right-click and choose UniConv. It reads the amount and the unit for you, opens the right converter, fills in the fields and shows the result. If the selection is not something it can convert, you get a short "not supported" message instead. WHAT YOU CAN CONVERT UniConv includes 27 converters, and every one works both ways as you type: - Money: currencies with live exchange rates, and popular cryptocurrencies. - Everyday units: length, weight, volume, temperature, area, speed, time, energy, power, pressure and more. - Running pace, fuel economy, data sizes and data transfer rates. - Medical: common blood test values and blood pressure units, as a quick reference. - Screen resolution, geographic coordinates and colors, with a round color preview that opens the color picker. - Dates between calendars, number bases and time zones, with daylight saving included. FEATURES - Understands currency symbols, currency codes, words like "dollars", and both 1,234.56 and 1.234,56. - Live rates from the source you choose (Frankfurter, ExchangeRate-API or Currency-API), cached for an hour so it still works offline, with a clear notice when rates are stale. - Multi-currency mode: convert one amount into several currencies at once and reorder them by drag and drop. - Side panel: keep the converter open next to any page. The popup and the side panel stay in sync. - Your number format: choose the decimal symbol, thousands separator and number of decimals, with a live preview. - Theme color: pick your favorite accent, with light and dark modes that follow your system. - Available in English, Français and العربية, with full right-to-left layout. - Keyboard shortcuts: Alt+C opens the popup and Alt+X opens the side panel (changeable in Chrome). - One-click copy on every value field, and each tool remembers your last units. - Also available as a website with the same converters. PRIVACY No account, no analytics, no tracking. The extension only contacts the exchange-rate and crypto-price service you select, to fetch rates. The text you select is processed locally and never leaves your browser. PERMISSIONS - Context menus: adds the right-click "UniConv" menu. - Storage: saves your settings and cached rates. - Alarms: refreshes cached rates once an hour. - Clipboard write: powers the copy buttons. - Active tab / Scripting: only when you right-click an unsupported selection, shows a small message on the current page. - Side panel: shows the converter next to the page. - Network access to the rate and price services you choose.
