EDIT 2: Review page looks manipulated. Only hours after posting, 6 downvotes appeared. Then three 5-star reviews, timed 1 day apart, pushed the review out of the 3 shown on the main page. It's clearly disproportionate to prior review activity here: even the spam has no downvotes. EDIT: Original review criticizing the extension's pop-up ads is at the bottom. The developer's reply has inaccuracies and misdirection; this is a response to it. If you want to see the ad yourself, go to the extens... Show more

Reply to EDIT 2: * Reviews are sorted by Recency by default, not by "Review Activity" * "Only hours after posting, 6 downvotes appeared" - because 6 people downvoted it? * "even the spam has no downvotes" - because no one downvoted them, including this commenter? * "Review page looks manipulated" - this is literally chrome Chrome Webstore page, not a personal website ?!?! * If you're implying that the developer has paid for spam services, then the spam service is doing a lousy job by giving a series of 4- star ratings and bringing the overall rating down Reply to updates in original review - 1) The code is designed to send only one notification per system. I'm unsure why you (and only you) received three. 2) I endorse Deep Work, which is why updates are sent only during major changes, approximately once every two years. 3) This changelog focuses on subscription features because that's the only major update in v3.0. Previous updates notified users about other new features. 4) It's not an ad; it's a major update notification. It appears as an ad because this update introduces subscription services. 5) The extension will continue to be updated monthly or more frequently. Major update notifications, however, are sent every 2-3 years. 6) I'm highlighting that your negative review overlooks the free and valuable features provided. The 1-star rating seems to be based solely on one notification. 7) Everyone with the extension installed received the notification. There's no need to invite others to verify it. 8) I share your concern about spam reviews. I have never paid for reviews, and ironically, spam reviews are lowering the rating with 3 and 4-star reviews instead of the organic 5-star feedback we've received. 9) [Six downvotes and one 5-star review] is now [3-upvotes, 9-downvotes, and two 5-star reviews]. Dear Sir/Madam, Your review seems to be based on negative assumptions. Since you've already left a 1-star and a negative review based on a lot of assumptions while overlooking the good work, I'll continue maintaining it for free and discontinue further engagement in this discussion. ----------------------------------------------- Hi there, Just to clarify, this extension only pushes a changelog notification during major updates, which happen once every two to three years. So, no, it's not an ad. It's information for users who actually care about the development and improvements. It's amusing that a single notification, which many users appreciated and sent emails thanking for maintaining this software, has caused such distress. As for monetization, maintaining and upgrading software isn't free. Most features remain free, but yes, I do charge for premium ones, starting only now. It's interesting that you never sent a thank-you email or left a good rating while using the software for free, yet one notification prompts a 1-star review and a lengthy rant. Also, it's quite presumptuous to assume distress on behalf of other users. Many have actually thanked us for the update and the continued free features. No one has subscribed just because of the notification, but many students have received free subscriptions upon request. Thanks for your concern. [PS: I built this extension as a hobby and side project. My only obligations are those outlined in the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions]

I am never the one to rate and comment but this extension really made me do it. I wanted to really escape the matrix of these distractions by youtube and instagram and couldn't really find a way out of it. The final option left for me was to delete my accounts on those platforms. But when i found this extension i clearky have no need of doing that. Thank you @tweetjai.

It is one of the effective site blocker, but since last update its stop working properly. Instead of "Pause for 5 minutes", Simple "Pause" button is more effective.
