You bought an ultrawide monitor. Almost every video on the web is still 16:9 — either sitting between thick black bars that eat ~26% of your screen, or “stretched to fit” by tools that make every face on screen ~30% wider. Ultrawider fixes both. Its Smoothie warp fills your 21:9 / 32:9 panel edge to edge while keeping the center much closer to the source proportions and pushing most of the stretch toward the edges. HOW IT WORKS Most “stretch to fit” tools distribute horizontal scaling uniformly, making people look wider everywhere. Ultrawider uses a quintic non-linear warp (NLS) that redistributes the stretch: less through the center of the picture and progressively more toward the edges. On 21:9 displays, faces near the center stay close to their source proportions. On very wide 32:9 displays, some center stretching remains because substantially more width must be filled.
