Converts any Ultimate Guitar tab or chord page into clean, standard ChordPro (.cho) format.

A Chrome Extension that converts any chord song on an Ultimate Guitar page into clean, standard ChordPro format (.cho) with a single click. You can copy/paste or download the ChordPro. How to Use on Ultimate Guitar Once installed, visit any chords page on tabs.ultimate-guitar.com (for example: Hallelujah, Let It Be, Wonderwall, or Wish You Were Here). Works only on CHORD pages, not TAB pages. You have two convenient ways to convert the song: Method A: The In-Page Floating Button Look at the bottom-right corner of the Ultimate Guitar tab page. Click the floating ♫ ChordPro button. An overlay dialog appears instantly on your screen containing: Extracted song metadata (Title, Artist, Key, Capo) Transpose controls (-1 / +1) Complete ChordPro markup Copy button (copies formatted text to clipboard) Download .cho button (saves the file for OnSong, SongBook, or ChordPro CLI) Method B: The Chrome Toolbar Pop-up Click the red musical note icon in your Chrome toolbar. The pop-up window opens (as pictured in the screen grab above). The song is automatically read from the active tab and rendered into ChordPro notation. Adjust transposition if needed, then click Copy or Download .cho. 3. Key Features Artist Name as ChordPro Subtitle: The artist is automatically extracted directly from the Ultimate Guitar URL (e.g. https://tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/blind-faith/... -> Blind Faith), with dashes replaced by spaces and each word capitalized. It is included as a standard ChordPro subtitle directive ({subtitle: Artist Name} or {st: Artist Name}) directly under the song title. Automatic Metadata Extraction: Reads the song title, artist/subtitle, original key, capo position, tempo (BPM), and guitar tuning directly from Ultimate Guitar's embedded page data. Accurate Chord-over-Lyric Alignment: Seamlessly weaves chord changes directly into the lyric syllables where they occur ([C]When I [G]find myself...). Standard Section Directives: Wraps verses in {start_of_verse} ... {end_of_verse} and choruses in {start_of_chorus} ... {end_of_chorus}. Monospace Tab & Fingering Diagram Preservation: Detects guitar tablature staves and chord fingering diagrams (C/G 3 x 2 0 1 0 or D/C 8x777x) and encapsulates them within {start_of_tab} ... {end_of_tab} blocks to ensure monospace formatting. On-the-Fly Transposition: Transpose chords up or down semitones without modifying your original source tab.
