Udemy TTS - Translate & Read Subtitles Aloud
Overview
Reads Udemy subtitles aloud in your language. After a quick setup, natural translation powered by generative AI is also supported.
Listen to Udemy lectures in your own language. This extension reads subtitles aloud in real time with natural voices, auto-adjusting video speed when narration falls behind. Works out of the box; add an API key for context-aware AI translation. 【Key Features】 ■ High-quality text-to-speech — Uses a high-quality speech synthesis engine with a wide selection of voices ■ Generative AI translation — Natural translations that take the whole lecture's context into account, with automatically generated pronunciation substitutions for technical terms ■ Automatic speed adjustment — When the narration falls behind the video, the playback speed is smoothly increased to stay in sync ■ Subtitle overlay — Displays translated subtitles over the video. Drag to reposition; font size and colors are adjustable ■ Pronunciation dictionary — Fine-tune how technical terms are read using your own custom dictionary 【How to Use】 Open any Udemy lecture page and a Udemy TTS button will appear in the video player. To use generative AI translation, register your API key on the settings page (the bundled setup guide walks you through the steps). 【Supported Providers】 Google AI Studio (Gemini) / OpenAI (GPT) / OpenRouter / OpenAI-compatible APIs. Presets for low-cost, fast models are included. Google AI Studio also offers a free tier, so you can get started at no cost.
