Managing dozens of open tabs? TypeTab helps you stay organized. Spotlight Search Press Ctrl+Shift+K (Cmd+Shift+K on Mac) to instantly search all open tabs by title or URL. Navigate with arrow keys, press Enter to switch. Works across all windows. Duplicate Tab Detection When you open a page that's already open in another tab, TypeTab catches it immediately: - Prompt mode: shows a notification asking if you want to switch to the existing tab - Silent mode: automatically switches to the existing tab — the duplicate never loads Close Tabs from Search Hover over any search result to reveal a close button, or use a keyboard shortcut (default Ctrl+Backspace) to close the selected tab without leaving the search. The shortcut is fully customizable in Settings. Theme Mode Supports Light, Dark, and System (auto) themes. The interface adapts to your preference across popup, settings, and spotlight — with anti-flash support so dark mode users never see a white flash on load. Settings at a Click Click the TypeTab icon in the toolbar to access both Search and Settings: - Enable/disable duplicate detection - Choose prompt or silent mode - URL-exact or domain-level matching - Theme mode and close-tab shortcut Privacy First TypeTab works entirely locally. No data is collected, no external servers contacted. All tab information stays in your browser. Keyboard-Driven Designed for keyboard-first workflows.
