Overview

Inspect and compare rendered typography on the current page without sending page data anywhere.

Typeplumb is a compact calibration instrument for designers, frontend developers, QA teams, and anyone trying to explain why two pieces of web typography feel different. Click Typeplumb in the toolbar, hover over rendered text, then pin a baseline A and comparison B. The differences-first report shows what changed across font stack, size, weight, style, line height, letter spacing, color, decoration, and text transform. A controlled specimen separates typography from the page’s wording. Built for the debugging loop Hover to probe rendered text without opening DevTools. - Click to pin exactly two A/B styles. - See changed values before unchanged details. - Copy all B typography or only the CSS declarations that differ. - Save a user-labelled style comparison locally. - Remove every saved comparison with Clear my data. Private by design Typeplumb does not transmit page data. It has no account, analytics, ads, affiliates, cloud service, or remote code. The page address and page wording are never stored. Unsaved comparisons disappear when the injected instrument closes or the page unloads. Honest scope Typeplumb reports values exposed by the browser’s computed-style API. A CSS font stack is not proof of the exact font used for every glyph. Text drawn into canvas, text inside iframe documents, PDFs, Chrome internal pages, and the Chrome Web Store are outside the product’s scope.
